Hi John
This is one of those that I can put you one step forward and then one back!!
I thought I would look for marriages for MLM and JM. I first found one for MLM so went and had a look at her certificate. The index entry is St Helier marriages, Sep 1880 to Aug 1885, page 22. The certificate shows Marie Louise Mauger married 10th Jul 1881 to Charles Le Cocq. He was 23 and a chartier living at 15 Byron Road, St Helier (which still exists). His father was Philip Le Cocq a cordonnier. Marie was also living at the same address and gave her place of birth as Labrador Amerique. Her father was Jean Mauger a pecheur (a fisherman). Witnesses were Charles Bisson and Sophie de la Haye.
Finding a marriage for Josephine drew a blank so I had a look for deaths. Josephine Rosalie Mauger died 28th Jan 1889 aged 23 years 6 months of congestion pulmonaire at Stopford Road. The key is that the person present at the death and who reported it was Marie Le Cocq! The death entry does not give any other information but it looks promising.
I then tried to find a death for Annette but have so far drawn a blank.
Now that I've found the name of a possible husband for Annette (Jean) I will look for a marriage and a death for Annette.
Interestingly I have found 3 books specifically on the Mauger's in Canada. There was a great connection between Jersey and Newfoundland, particularly Gaspe as Jersey people fished the cod banks and obviously settled in that region. There is a site specifically for Channel Island people who settled in Canada at (albeit it's in French Canadian):
http://tonylesauteur.com/arbre11.htmIn the 1891 census for Jersey you can see:
Charles Le Cocq, born St Martin, aged 33, a general carrier
Marie L Le Cocq, born North America, aged 34
Charles M, born St Helier, aged 6
William G, born St Helier, aged 5
John M, born St Helier, aged 2
Louise M S, born St Helier, aged 7 months
