hi all
       im trying to trace a birth cert for a relative,he died at 2 years old,francis shepherd was the name on the death cert,his mothers maiden name(she was unmarried) she later married and had the name folan(irish origin) has anyone come across him while doing their own searches? year of birth would be 1944,thanks for any help or info given.....teresa :)

Hi Teresa

There is a birth showing in Methlick in 1943 for a Francis Shepherd. The only one in Aberdeen County for that period.

            thanks monica,i've looked at that info,could well be him,but cant get to look at the cert,dont really want to order an extract in case its not him,but does look to be the closest match.......teresa :)

Teresa, you are in a period now for births where everything has to be ordered unfortunately. Cut off for viewing births on line at Scotlands People is 1908. Maybe someone who is already visiting New Register House (Edinburgh) or Strathclyde Genealogy Centre (Glasgow) where more modern BMDs are available to view could do a look up for you perhaps?
