Lost IVEYs
« on: Sunday 19 July 09 10:34 BST (UK) »
I have been trying to find an IVEY family in the 1841 census, and am nearly ready to admit defeat.  I am really hoping one of you more experienced folk will be able to spot them.

The details I have are as follows:

James IVEY Head born c1801 Middlesex
James IVEY son born c1826 Hammersmith or Tottenham, Middlesex
Robert IVEY son born c 1826 Holloway, Middlesex

I do hope someone can find them.
Best

Very strange household only 1 girl, Harriet Malcom, 14 transcribed as living there also.

Hi Trish & Jennifer
Thanks for your interest.
I have the family on the 1851 census (er.... not sure what you mean by ref. Jennifer). ???
Both James Snr & jnr are carpenters (journeymasters, I think) & Robert is a plasterer something (can't make out what the second word is). Robert is married to Caroline, and they have a little boy, also Robert, 1 month old.
There is also a grandson-in-law, Edward Cook, and another daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Brook, both 4 years old.  I'm not sure what relation these actually are to any of the others!

Hi Sami :)

Jennifer meant census ref no's for the ones you have found just as I posted under my reply. It is located in small writing under the word save (in orange) on the list of people in household.

Anyhow Robert is easy to find from 1851 onwards, although 51 has them as IVY
HO107/1702/488/5

I will see if I can work out who the Brook/Cook children are now.

Cheers,
trish

I think they are both COOK;

They are Carolines children ( either she was a widow at marriage or they are illegitimate) You would have to purchase marriage cert or one of the childrens birth certs to find out.
they should be listed as step-grand children ::)

Marriage ;
Caroline COOK

On same page Robert IVEY

MMMm ;D

Unfortunately unable to confirm 1841 for them ::)

Looks like Caroline Cook was a naughty girl as her brother Thomas Cook is living with them in 1861.
