The Red cross badge looks like it could St John Ambulane (Not sure though)

Definitely not http://www.sja.org.uk/sja/
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Yet again I am overwhelmed with the help I'm getting on this query! Thank you all for your assistance. The websites were interesting - I've sent an email to Lancashire R.O. & will be telephoning Greater Manchester Museum.

Hi All

As topic says 'the uniform'.

Those heavy arm strips says 1900 or before to 1925 ish
but the upsidedown 'W' on the top pocket flaps says later post WW2 thus with thin strips! so could it  be 1920-1940 years.

Just food for thought!

Dobby

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth
