Herbert William Hall - Petersfield
« on: Tuesday 21 July 09 06:42 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Can anybody please tell me who was living in the same household as Herbert William Hall in the 1891 census in Hampshire?

Herbert was born in Petersfield, Hampshire in early 1891.

I am hoping to find his mother and fathers name, and hopefully some siblings.

I think that they moved to Kildare, Ireland but I don't know if this was before the 1901 census.

If you find the information from the 1891 census, could you please check the 1901 census as well?

Thanks in advance,

Darin, Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Hi Darin,

I can see a likely candidate in the correct registration district:

1891
RG12/945 14 22
Buriton, Hampshire

Alfred Henry Hall, head, 27, Tarpaulin Sheet? Maker?, b. Sussex Kingston
Emma, wife, 23, b. Surrey Godstone
Alfred John, son, 2, b. Bedfordshire Dunstable
Herbert William, son, 1 mo, b. Hants Buriton

However the family are still in Buriton in 1901 - not sure if this rules them out?

Hi Tati,

Thanks,

That's brilliant.

I think that that could be them, as I don't know what year they left for Ireland. It could have been after 1910.

Do you know if Buriton is near Petersfield.

Thanks again,

Darin.

  Hi ....

Just to add for you. They still show in the area for 1911 census with additional 2 sons so may have  left for Ireland after that.
 Alfred John elsewhere in Hampshire.
