I wonder what the royal connection is?? It sounds fascinating.

It's a pity she wasn't more specific about it. And the marriage cert does prove there is a history of weavers in the family. There was a strong military presence in Offaly in the 1800s so that explains why a Scottish soldier was living in Banagher. Perhaps you could look for military records for Oram? Also, to find Scottish records you should look at
http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.ukTessaran is a Protestant church. It is spelt many different ways: Tisaran, Tissaran, Tessauran etc. The emphasis is on the second syllable TeSARan. It is located at Moystown Cross near the village of High Street, in the west of Co. Offaly, between Shannonbridge and Ferbane. Look for Moystown Cross on Google Maps.
The church is in ruins now but was in use for services up to the 1960s. There is a graveyard attached which is very overgrown.
I have transcribed a few entries from the Tisaran
burial records where the names might be relevant to my own research. These are the Price entries:
Name; Address; Date Buried; Age.
Henry Price, High St.; 25th Jul 1849; 22.
James Price; High St.; 5 May 1857; -.
Jane Price; 9 Jun 1859; 72.
Thomas Price; Deer Park; 24 Mar 1868; -.
The earliest listing was in 1820 & the latest 1877.
I also took note of the following in the
Baptism register:
Date Baptised; Date Born; Name; Father's name; Mother's name; Father's surname; Address; Occupation
6th May 1836; -; Jane; James; Jane; Price; -; -.
6th May 1836; -; James; James; Jane; Price; -; -.
(No birth date is given - these may be twins, or siblings christened together).
4th Aug 1850; 23rd Jul 1850; Mary Jane; Oram; Marianne; Adamson; Moystown; Soldier.
21st May 1854; 21st Apr 1854; Mary Anne; Thomas; Mary Price; Fitzroy; Kilcummin Rd.; Labourer.
The earliest entry was 1819 & the latest 1875.
As far as I know the above listings are the only mentions of Price in the Baptism & Burial registers. I haven't seen the Marriage register.
Also, search for James Price in Kings Co. (Offaly) in the land records of Griffith's Valuation:
http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xmlYou'll see him in Moneenagulla in Tisaran parish.
Finally, there seems to be records of the family in the Ireland databases in
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#r=1&p=allCollectionsI hope you find the above interesting.
