Unusual Registrar Name - Completed
« on: Saturday 25 July 09 09:50 BST (UK) »
Just picked up my Grandmothers birth certificate (born 1869).  I have interpreted the deputy registrar name as "Liberal" Harris.  That seems very unusual to me.  What else could it be?

I think it's definitely Liberal

On free BMD there are four births of people called Liberal (one of them is actually called Liberal Reform Darby.)

There is a Liberal Harris in Brighton in the 1871 census, occupation 'Landscape Engraver'.

There is a 13yr old Liberal Harris living in London in 1851 census, his siblings have "normal" names.
Perrins - Manchester and Staffs
Honan - Manchester and Ireland
Hogg - Manchester 19 cent
Anderson - Newcastle mid 19 cent
Boullen - London then Carlisle then Manchester
Comer - Manchester and Galway
