Bonsey Family help needed - locating on a census?

I've come to a bit of a dead end and was wondering whether anyone can help me?

Charles Bonsey (born abt 1816, father Thomas Bonsey) married Sarah Shaw (born abt 1819, father William Shaw) at All Souls, Marylebone on 20 August 1837. From BMDs I believe Sarah died in 1853 and Charles appears on the 1861 census.

However I just can't see them on either the 1841 or 1851 census and its driving me mad.

They had a daughter Emma Jane Bonsey in 1843.  She was born in Uxbridge.

I would be really grateful of any help that people might be able to give me.

I found a Charles BONCEY on the 1841 on findmypast

Do you have an occupation for Charles' father Thomas from the marriage certificate? If we can find Thomas, we may know where Charles was born, so can identify him with more accuracy from the choices using a wildcard for the surname search. I suspect the unusual surname has been mis-transcribed....

Hi

You say you have Charles in 1861 and that Sarah is dead .... there are 2 possibilities in the Uxbridge area for an Emma in  1861  

Living Chapel Row, Uxbridge an Emma born 1845 with mother Sarah Ann married but husband not present   bn c1811 Uxbridge, also a son Charles age 9

OR at London Street, Uxbridge

Emma J bn 1843 at Hillingdon with mother Elbary Ann bn 1829 a widow also bn Uxbridge, also a son James age 12 bn Hillingdon.

are either of these yours?
