WEBB Family ++completed++
« on: Friday 31 July 09 10:19 BST (UK) »
Please help.
I am just starting my 'tree'.
I have wedding cert for Percy Alfred Webb / Margaret Elsie Currington, 18th Sept 1937. I can find birth details for Margaret, but have failed to find for Percy. I get two options, but they are not the right one.
Marriage cert says Percy aged 26, living in Maulden, father was William.

Is it possible for someone to track him down please. He died about 1956/7,
Thank you, Hencarrai.

Wow, thanks for quick response folks.

Pauline:
Witnesses were; Fanny Currington and James Charlton.
Williams occupation was; Labourer.
I found and dismissed; P.A.W. St Albans and P.A.W Chelmsford.

Jan:
That's a good option, don't know about second initial.
1911 has to be about it, and explains why I can't find him on 1911 census, but I thought birthday was 1st March.

I'll have a look now.
Thanks again.

Well it has to be a good option, but we always thought his birthday was 1st March. I've had another search cannot see any better ones.
Will I be able to find his death cert online?
Regards,
Hencarrai

You would have to search full indexes (ie not freebmd) for a death reg.
And that would be page-by -page

Hi Janan,
great hunting, your suggestion of Percy A A Webb was spot on, I have his birth cert now. Second A is for 'Allgood', I didn't know about that.
Don't know if I can get any further as fathers name not on cert, and mothers name given as Minnie Webb and no maiden name shown.
Will see how I go, but I expect I'll be back soon.
Thanks very much for your help.

Sounds as though he might have been illegitimate and Minnie Webb WAS her maiden name. Perhaps Allgood was a none too subtle hint as to the father.

Where was he born? Clophill? There's a Minnie Webb born 1888 living there in 1891, 1901 and 1911, daughter of Levi and Sarah. I'll post full details if I'm on the right track. Clophill and Maulden are a mile apart

Who registered the birth? Minnie or someone else? eg mother
