Marylebone workhouse street address??
« on: Friday 31 July 09 13:41 BST (UK) »
I have an unusual request which I can't seem to solve.  In the 1851 Census, Daniel Aldridge was living at 2 Northumberland Street Marylebone with his two sons William and James.  Is this the Marylebone workhouse?  I have looked at the whole street and can find no mention of the workhouse in the enumeration index.  >:( If he wasn't in the workhouse can someone please show me where he might have lived on the street.    Thanks Janine

St Marylebone workhouse is an enumeration district of its own in 1851, within the district of Rectory  :)

Thanks very much everyone  8) .. I didn't realise that the workhouse had it's own enumeration district. Just for information he died in the workhouse in 1862.  Thanks again  Janine

coincidentally I am also looking to find a Marylebone workhouse or infirmity ward address, for the time period 1906 to 1911. If someone has the citation for the 1911 census and/or the actual address it might help me to find a missing relative in 1911. Annie Moody or Moodey lived at Portman House, Harrow Street, Lisson Grove, Marylebone by 1925. I could not find her in 1911 and wonder if she is there, and possibly in the workhouse. (age 40).
Heath, Moody, Attwood, King, Baker, Haysman, in Dartford or Chatham Kent
Heath, Moody in Marylebone and Paddington, London
O'Keefe or Keefe in Plaistow
