1841 & 1851 Census Richard Morris Great Easton
« on: Sunday 02 August 09 21:11 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any information in the 1841 and 1851 census for a Richard Morris born in 1790 in Great Easton, Leicestershire.  By 1841 he was a widower or he quite possibly was re-married.  The names of his children who were possibly living with him  in 1841 were Mary b. 1823, Sarah b. 1825 and William b. 1826.  Richard died in 1856 in Great Easton.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Thank you so much.  It appears that Richard did indeed re-marry.  Is the family listed in the 1851 census.  Also what does the letter "Y" stand for?  And I am assuming that the letters "F.S." stand for "female servant"?  How clever of you to find one of the daughters living 2 dwellings away.  Great work.

In the 1841 census birthplaces aren't given, only Yes or No for born in County or not.  Yes F.S. would be female servant.

Unfortunately I couldn't see them in 1851, in fact there seems quite a shortage of Great Easton so I don't know if some of it has been missed.  I checked for a Mary born in another county but the only couple were too obviously not right.

Maybe somebody else will have better luck, sorry.
