Sadly  grandparents are not around to ask, but they did live in GTB's house in Tower Road, Worthing for a short time when I was a kid!
GTB's death is still a mystery but I'll keep beavering away at it.

Regards
Ken

Hi Ken

Was GTB alive when they lived in his house? Or can you give a rough idea of when this was as again it might narrow the time down.

Many thanks for the 1901 Census - it's spot on.  Kate Mills BRAZIER, by the way, got the Mills bit from her mother Kate MILLS (1844-1913) who married David BRAZIER (1840-1915) in Southwick :)
I assume that the Kate Mills you mention above above was the grandmother rather than mother.  David and Kate are in Worthing in 1901.
Have you looked at the 1911 census?   it is pay per view so you will have to do that yourself but just looking at the index is very useful too.  GTB could have lived for years so it really is necessary to try and cut the dates down.  Is he living when his children marry for example?

I've just done a search for GTB's death on Freebmd between 1911 and 1936 and the only 2 in Sussex are:

George Brazier June quarter 1924 aged 62 Eastbourne 2b 115

George H Brazier June quarter 1933 aged 69 Hastings 2b 47

Both a good way from Worthing, unless he died in a hospital there.

Once again taking them as they came:

After GTB died, in Worthing, my grandparents moved to 8 Tower Road, Worthing (I found them resident there in 1952 (Kellys) but by 1955 they had moved on in Worthing.  Therefore, GTB died sometime around 1945-52 timeframe.  I believe that MAS pre-deceased GTB.

Kate MILLS was indeed the grandmother of Kate Mills BRAZIER - my apologies.

As my Ancestry subscription ran out on the 1st, I dashed down to the local library to check the censuses on Library Ancestry, only to find the computer was down :(  Will renew Ancestry after my hols in September.

Incidently, I learnt something else from you ladies, the 1911 Census, where is it available please?

Finally, there is something strange with regard to the recording of the deaths of the Braziers.  I had a lot of trouble getting my grandparents deaths, neither appeared in any of the normal websites both free and pay - both died in 1968.  He was Thomas David BRAZIER (1890-1968).  My great grand parents are giving the same problem, I can't find any deaths for GTB, his siblings or MAS - is there any logical reason for this? ???

The 1911 census is only available at present via www.findmypast.com
If you do pay to view it look at the actual image.  The transcripts are a waste of money.  You can discover a lot free though.  There are various tips on here if you put 1911 search into our search rootschat box.
I assume you did check other spellings when look for deaths?  Brasier etc.  otherwise write to the local office if you know where they died.

For fear of ostracizing myself totally from RootsChat.com, how should I correct my misdemeanour please?

I grovel as I type.  You can take it as being read, I really shot myself in the foot :-[

Is there any means whereby both enquiries (yourself and Jan) with that running with Janet (Springbok) can be linked.  That way I can keep all informed of any progress ???

As it stands at the moment it's clumbersome for all concerned and progress is being made despite the mega-SMITH problem.
