Hi, there:  Can't find Isabella or Annabella specifically in Fetteresso.  Was Isabella born Middleton and married to O'Neil?  or the other way round?  And how close is "ca. 1827"?

hi lydiaann  :)
thanks for your time

 :-[
looking at my original post i maybe should have worded it better
her birthplace is given as kincardine o'neil aberdeenshire in 1881
middleton is her married surname and maiden surname
her age is constant on census 1851 - 1881   i.e. 24 ,34 , 44 , 54 - so about 64 ?
her address was 8 kirktown fetteresso in 1881
she died 5th july 1900(age 72) in stonehaven kincardineshire
could be living with son adam middleton age about 25 on 1891 census ?

in 1901 bella rendall is with her father(?) william rendall
her age is given as 12 and birthplace fetteresso
her mother mary ann middleton married william rendall in november 1890
and on 1891 census william and mary rendall are living fetteresso with
son william rendall , but no sign of bella who i was hoping might be with
her grandmother
if bella has a different surname from middleton or rendall then it might be
impossible to find her  :-\

thanks

Hi, Ev:  Well, what a mystery...I can't find Isobella either, (I notice that on earlier censuses she had an 'o' rather than an 'a').  Closest I could get to any information other than that you have, is that she married Wm. Middleton on Nov 5, 1848 and had 7 children - I got this from a public family tree set up by a "Living Findlay" - which may, or may not be you!  The closest I could come to Bella was - again from another family tree - a Jessie Bella Middleton (?) b. 22 Aug 1889 in Aberdeenshire, died January 1963 in Miami, Fla.  Spouse unknown, and one living issue.  (In case you wish to follow this up, her SSN was 087-09-4896); but we can't guarantee we have the right one.

Sorry I can't be of more help.  Indications are that in 1891 Isobel was visiting somewhere and they thought they didn't have to enter her, or she was in hospital, prison, travelling overnight....

FYI:  The Rendall name seems to have originated in Orkney, which is where most of those people seem to have lived!

Hi

I too cannot find Isabella on the 1891 census but was looking on Ancestry.

In the past I have looked for various relatives in Fetteresso on the 1891 census on Ancestry to no avail BUT have found them on the 1891 census on Scotlands Peolpe.

I did a free search for an Isabella Middleton aged 60 to 65 in Fetteresso on SP and there was 1 match. Unfortunately I have no credits  at present and are therefore unable to confirm if its yours or not.

It might be worth a look

thanks lydiaann & higgsy  :)

lydiaann you have the correct william middleton , after william died isabella had
another 4 children one of whom was the mary ann middleton who married
william rendall(born westray orkney)
the public tree is not mine but might be worth a look
higgsy think the ancestry census 1891 for this area is a bit dodgy also having
problems trying to find people in johnshaven kincardineshire
bella rendall married in dundee in 1913 and i have been told that a certain
someones ggrandfather was a witness at this event
at the party afterwards he thought the celebrations were getting out of hand
and poured all the whisky down the sink !
a fact he was made to regret for the rest of his life  ;D
