Can't add much on his time at Dromore Presbterian Church (Co. Tyrone). Rev. John George Hamilton, lic. Armagh Presbytery, ordained 3 Feb.1893, called to Islington (Liverpool) 24 Sept.1896, installed Dromore 24 Aug.1910.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Thank you Aghadowey and Mary

That's a big help.

Does anyone have access to an obituary or cemetery notice for him?

I just obtained the 1911 Census, which confuses me a little.

It shows John George's religion as being "Presbyterian Church of Ireland" and occupation as a Presbyterian Minister, BA, RMI, which I already knew. I'm a little confused that it says both P "AND" CofI. Can anyone enlighten me?

It also confirmed their address as "The Manse", Aughadarragh, Dromore, Tyrone, N Ireland, UK (I have seen various spellings of Aughadarragh).

Still hoping to find obituary/cemetery/burial information. Tried History from Headstones but the one I thought might be him isn't.

Does anyone have contact information for the Dromore Presbyterian Church in Tyrone?

Hi,
Presbyterian Church - The full name is Presbyterian Church in Ireland, looks like a slight error.

Thank you to the wonderful members of RootsChat!!! and Shane, in particular!!!

My great, great uncle, Rev John George HAMILTON died in Belfast not Dromore. He'd became seriously ill and proceeded to Belfast for an operation. After his arrival at the nursing home they realized his condition was too grave for the operation to be successful. He died in the nursing home. ((Paraphrased))

Still no idea what happened to his wife Marian Sarah HAMILTON, who died 7 June 1935, supposedly in Northern Ireland, likely Belfast (according to a distant relative).

Thanks, Jill

Deaths in Northern Ireland from 1922 onwards are not on-line. If you want to find Marian’s death certificate, contact GRONI in Belfast. They should be able to provide you with a copy.
