A friend is trying to trace a Spanish connection due to a health problem which apparently comes down through the female line. The 2 Great grandmothers she is looking for are-
Isabella Francis Stewart married Charles Lewis Slack in NSW Australia in 1878 (will apply for the marriage certificate but Stewart certainly doesn't sound Spanish!)
Mary Ann Wilkinson married William Henry Stanley C1873 she thinks in Australia.
I have a triple image eye problem at the moment so having trouble looking records up, hope you can help.

4330/1878 Charles L Slack married Isabella F A Stewart, in the district of ORANGE

3931/1873 William Henry Stanley married Mary Ann Jackson, in the district of HILL END

Please note that the brides surname is Jackson. It is the only one C1873. She may have married as a widow, or your Mary Ann may not have married in NSW.

You may like to have this moved to the Australia board.

If she was widowed, here is a possible first marriage:

2390/1863 William Jackson married Mary Ann WILKINSON in the district of MUDGEE

Hill End is a small town, not far from Mudgee.

This will be the death of William Jackson:

5826/1871 William Jackson aged 38 years, died at TAMBAROORA

TAMBAROORA is a hop skip and jump from HILL END

Possible death: 2359/1932 Charles L SLACK parents William and Eleanor, district of MARRICKVILLE

The couple had 7 children which can be found on NSW BDM http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au

I can't find the mother's death.

The last child was born in 1897, so she was alive then.

Found her: 16292/1941 Isabell Francess Slack of parents John and Elizabeth, in the district of REDFERN

I don't know how you move it, either, but I'm sure someone will pop up who does know.

Would you know who Mary Anne's parents were, so as to narrow down her death?
