I got us a new rootschatter
« on: Wednesday 02 March 05 00:06 GMT (UK) »
For U.S. gene. I go often to a site called Familyworkings and I got one of the gentleman from there to join us here.  He left a post there saying he had signed up here.  His name is Howard and he is a nice older man living in Fla. who now needs some help on his U.K. family so I hope someone here can help him at times.   Leagen

Well done Leagen.   I'm sure if Howard posts his requests he will get as much help as it is possible to give from other RootsChatters.

He has joined as Howard D. Blair and his interest right now is info on his family from South Hampton.  Turns out he is not as old as I thought, he is 57.  I thought he was older due to thinking he was retired and that's why he moved to Fla.  Now I feel old!  59 come May.   Leagen

I never worked enough To retire!  10 years ago I had to go on disability due to medical problems I was born with and for the first time in my adult life being alone and I couldn't get Social Security 'cause I hadn't worked enough so I am on S.S.I. which is just for people like me and older ones who get Social Security but it isn't enough for them to live on, it supplements Their S.S..  Sometimes I wish I could work (But then when there is a foot of snow I think, Naw, I wouldn't want to Have to go out in This!)    Leagen

Goodness, NO.  You did not offend me at all.  I myself was talking in a joking manner.  I am surprised everyone here doesn't think I am totally lazy 'cause I seldom worked in my life.  When I Did work I had interesting jobs tho.  I was a Go-Go Girl in Night Clubs from the Carolina's to New Orleans.  Good money and a lot of fun.  Then my back went and I was done. Of course getting married to a man who didn't Want me to work was a factor too.  Leagen
