My GrGrGrandfather Thomas Rudge married Susan Macklin 17 Dec. 1842 in the Church of Marstow in the County of Hereford. After Susan's death he married her sister Maria. Thomas died 27 April 1858 at the age of 40 in West Dean, Coleford, Gloucestershire.

First, I am hoping to find others researching same family line.
Second,  learn of cemetery transcription and locate final resting place of Thomas, Susan and Maria possible that there is a family plot with additional relatives.

Hi Gary

I checked the Gloucestershire Burial Index without finding anything that matches your family.  There are plenty of RUDGES, including Coleford.  No Thomas for the right date and no Maria in the right place/ old enough to have been Thomas's wife.

Let me know if you want me to check other villages or name variants.

regards  :)

Me again!

Bearing in mind the Herefordshire connection, this thread may interest you:

http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/GLOUCESTER/1998-06/0897281365

It details a Thomas RUDGE born 1784 GLS, sons James and Thomas, the latter with wife Mary in 1851.  Only problem is they are in Birmingham!!

Dear Gary,

Was thrilled to see your post regarding Thomas Rudge because his wives, Susan and Maria Macklin are the only 2 daughters of my 3G grandfather, Thomas Macklin.  His three sons headed off to Australia, and I am descended from the oldest son.  I have no further information about what happened to Susan and Maria, or any children after they married Thomas Rudge.  I would be very grateful if there is any information you could share regarding them or their descendants.

I have just started searching my family tree and have visited Marstow, to see the graves of my Great and Great Great Grandparents.
Google threw up Gary B's exchange from 2005 relating to Thomas Rudge.

After all this time, are you still interested?

Seems we may be related!
