Hi,
Thomas was bap 23.10.1796 Chesterton Oxon. By 1841 census he is married and has 3 daughters Sarah 12, Anne 8 and Jane 6. His wife is Elizabeth ??? Trying to trace Elizabeths surname. They appear as a couple on 1851 and 1861 cesus. Elizabeth born in Warwickshire and died aged 89 in 1885. Any thoughts and help welcome.

Thanks

John

Hi,

I know you have said that Elizabeth was born in Warwickshire, but do you know which parish?  You might be able to get this information from another census perhaps.

You could then post your message on the Warwickshire page and somebody could look her up in the parish register.

You also don't say where the children were born.  If Sarah is the eldest child it is likely that her parents married in the same parish.  You could then ask to look up that marriage in a parish register.

Hope this helps,

Theresa

Hi,

I can't see a Thomas Freeman marring in the 10 years or so before 1829 in Chesterton.

As you say, baptisms for children are:

Sarah 8 Feb 1829
Ann 3 Feb 1823
Mary 12 Jul 1835

Perhaps the daughter Jane on the census was misread/transcribed and is meant to be Mary?

Theresa
