1841 Look-up for Chester-le-Street - Completed
« on: Monday 17 August 09 08:41 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Could SKS possibly do a look up for a John Rippon bn. abt 1791 either in Newcastle or Lanchester.  His occupation is an 'Engineman'.  I would like to know who else is with him at the same address.

Thank You.

Regards,

WhiskyMac

Hi Whiskey Mac

I cannot see any Johns that fit the bill exactly. Where did you see that he was an engine man? Do you have any other details about him, i.e any children?

Hi Evie,

All I know is that he has a son called John bn 1821 or later and his occupation is from the son's marriage certificate.  I don't know if there were any siblings.

Living Chester le Street, Lamesley, possibly Shut Gate, cannot quite make it out.

HO107/Piece 300/8/50/6

John Nappon (sic) although the original looks like Rippon to me, age 50, Engineman
Catherine, 50
Margaret, 20
John, 15
William, 15

All born in County

They have Margaret as 28 but it looks like 20 to me
