5th Canadian Artillery Regiment
« on: Wednesday 19 August 09 16:15 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

Among my late mothers possecions was this brouch,It appears to be a badge pinned onto a horseshoe,
There is hallmarks on the shoe, but they are to small to read,

I have been all over the web looking for the badge, but all i can find is the "normal" artillery badges,

Anybody any ideas?

With the horseshoe, and the hallmarks, I would say that it was a sweetheart brooch, given to a loved one by someone who served in the regiment. Can you see the join between the horseshoe and the badge? Does it look professional?

As for the regiment - try googling "5th regiment canadian artillery" in that combination

Hi kyt,

Yes i tend to agree with you and it is a very professional job and an unusual badge,

I know mother was in the ATS,first at Leicester, then at the ammo dump at Longton,nr Carlisle,

Thanks for your input
