Simple Parish Lookups -COMPLETED
« on: Thursday 20 August 09 19:06 BST (UK) »
I'm going to Lincoln Archives tomorrow (sorry for the short notice but just got back from a very rainy Scotland).

If anyone would like me to do any lookups for them then I'd be only too pleased.  (I've already noted yours Jill)

Please provide as many details as possible, and I'll do my best to get through as many as I can.  I'll check this site at 9am in the morning before I set off.

Hello, this is very kind of you. I wonder if you could find the name of my great great grandmother`s father. She was Rebecca Cordley (and married Thomas Cole in  October1824. Both "of full age".The marriage was in the parish of Pinchbeck where Thomas came from. She came from Weston Hills which is near Weston ,not far from Pinchbeck and therefore near Spalding. I don`t think he will be mentioned on that record -too early for marriage certs-)so perhaps her Baptism which I think would have been at the church at Weston. I am assuming as she was of full age ie over 21 she could have been Baptised  from1800 to 1803or thereabouts. Don`t worry about it or spend too much time but thanks so much.Let`s recap:- Rebecca Cordley, born Weston Hills , was aged over 21 at her marriage in 1824. I would like the name of her father and/or mother which may be on her baptism record ,she was most probably baptised at the church at Weston ( slight possibility at St. Mary`s Pinchbeck but not likely). Thanks again. Viktoria.

Hi, Polly,

Could you see if there is a record of the baptism of John Fowler, bapt. 26th June, 1784, in Burgh le Marsh, Lincs.? - I'd like to know the names of his parents, if possible.

Thanks very much for the offer.

'Hat.

How wonderful, Polly,

I would be so grateful if you could look-up a baptism at WEST ASHBY, for a MARY TUXWORTH in 1814. Also at West Ashby a baptism for a JAMES TUXWORTH in 1834, poss illigitimate son of this Mary?? (I am not sure that either will be there really, its a bit of a long shot, as Mary Tuxworth after marriage to a Johnson in Legbourne says she was born West Ashby- acc to the IGI there are some poss siblings of Mary in this record).

Thank-you so much,
Sally

Thank you Polly for you very kind offer  :-*

I wonder if you remember you did some searching for me last October on my Graves family and then in June Geoff E found a possible marriage for me that member submitted on the IGI, and his marriage index confirmed that marriage but didn't have an exact date, would you be able to check it and let me know of any witnesses.

The marriage is at Louth on 14 May 1792 between Jonathan Graves and Elizabeth Taylor.

Thank you very much and if you ever need any East Sussex lookups I'm you're woman!  ;D

Hi Polly,

Can I be really cheeky and add one? Only if you have time, could you have a look at the marriage at LEGBOURNE,  24 May 1836, between Charles Johnson and Mary Tuxworth-- I would love to find out who the witnesses were, and confirm that she was a spinster and he a widower, and that they were both OTP.
Thanks so much,

Sally

OK, Sally.  Really no problem.  Just got back from hols and hubby had booked a day clay shooting, so I thought why should I have to clean out the caravan/do the washing etc. while he was enjoying himself.  So as soon as we got back yesterday, I booked a fiche at the Archives!   :)
