Searching for Paul Fenny
« on: Monday 24 August 09 16:33 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help. I am looking for the descendants of Paul Fenny. He was born in 1864 in Radstock, Staffordshire but moved to Burnley Lancashire by the 1871 census. Think he married Hannah Maria Holdsworth at St. Matthews, Burnley 1885. As far as we are aware he emigrated to South Africa possible around 1900, we believe he came home at some stage but don't know if he returned. In the 1891 census he was down as Paul Ferney living in Burnley with his family and was a house painter we also know he was an artist. Please can anyone help. Many thanks.

There is a death notice for Paul Fenny in the Cape Town archives in 1934 and also a death notice for Hannah Maria Fenny born Holdsworth in 1939. I know Ouma is going to the archives to morrow - I will ask her to see what she can find. He is listed as a painter living in cape Town.
Both Hannah and Paul arrived back in the UK in 1921 aboard the Kenilworth Castle

I have found Hannah and 2 children the right age arriving in Cape town in 1896,1901, and 1905. He is not travelling with them - except there is an O Fenny, a merchant, with the family on the 1901 voyage.
