HUGILL : Baptism in Plymouth c1788 please
« on: Wednesday 26 August 09 21:40 BST (UK) »
Hello

Does anyone have access tp the Plymouth parish registers please.

I am trying to find the baptism of ELIZABETH HUGILL in Plymouth about 1788 as that is the place and date of birth put down for her on the 1851 census.

Thank you in advance.

Hello Ian & Sammie

Thank you very much for your kind offer.  :)

Since my post i have found her probable parents marriage info :  Richard Hugill & Jane Adams married 30/4/1787 Plymouth Charles, Devon. It would be nice to confirm Elizabeth's baptism to prove these are her parents. (My Elizabeth names one of her children with the middle name of Adams so it looks a good match.)

Regards
Ravelin

P.S.
My latest received info on the above marriage indicates that there are extra notes in the original parish register. If you have some spare time could you look up the extra info for me. Dont worry if you run out of time.

I believe also that Richard may be a son of Richard Hugill & Elizabeth Watson who married at Plymstock 31/7/1762 (notes).

There are only 7 Hugill marriages in the whole of Devon betwen 1754 -1812. A Very good name to work with !

Hello DOB7

Thank you for looking these baptisms up for me.  :)

Betsey has to be my Elizabeth.

I also reckon that Cole is most probably a surname further back in the line. I know there was another son baptised in 1813 Plymouth, St Andrew (born1811) named Joseph. This would suggest more children born between William & Joseph.
