not quite sure where you mean... "we think was born in Dublin County Cork around 1890 s"

Dublin is on the east coast and over 250km away from Cork on the south coast.. maybe the place name has been misheard at some stage ?

Unfortunately the with Cork & Dublin as possibility the search is probably going to involve the two most populated counties in Ireland..  you can search the civil index on familysearch at : http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#c=1408347;p=2;t=searchable

there are a few possible matches (6) around the right time - none in Cork and just one in Dublin and that's a Sarah Kate Masterson in the North City district, dated 1885

You can order certs from the GRO by post - see www.groireland.ie using the following references from the index -

Name / Registration district / Record type (e.g. birth)
Quarter and Year / Volume / Page

Hi Mike.
I have the same grandmother (Sarah Masterson).
Sarah was born in Kinsale Ireland in 1886, and had two brothers, Daniel and Denis, Sarah Married Mark Brown (a British soldier) in 1906 in Kinsale. There first born was my father, John Edward Brown, and the only one to be born in Ireland, all the rest where born in England, except one, who was born in Malta during our grandfathers posting there.
