Uniform identifiation please.
« on: Sunday 30 August 09 11:48 BST (UK) »
I put this photo on a few weeks ago and got a great response about the man on the right.  This time I would like info. about the man on the left.  I think he was my great uncle Isaac Alfred Meadows.   The Photo was taken in France in 1917.
Thanks Wendy.

hello

man seated is a Sergeant with the Royal Fusiliers.

There is a MIC for a Issac A Meadows showing service number 39553 and later Labour Corps number 61824.

Was he injured?

Hope this helps.

David

Hi David,    Thanks so much for your reply,   So he was with  the Royal Fusiliers and later with the labour corps.
This was taken in 1917  and he was the Fusiliers   would the labour corps still have been during the war?
Unfortunately I don't know if he was injured but he did survive the war.
Thanks again Wendy.

Hello back :)

yes-Labour Corps would suggest he was injured - think he survived - no cwgc entry.

Regards

David
