Waterdell??
« on: Tuesday 01 September 09 16:59 BST (UK) »
I have found a relation Thomas Malbrow age 74 on the 1881 Census with his wife Harriet Malbrow age 76 living in Barnet Lane, Edgeware. His birthplace is named as Waterdell, Hertford. Does anybody know were this is or under which parish I might find his birth records.
Many Thanks for any help

dont recognise it, and 1871 says St Stephens as a PoB !

Looks like they've been in the Elstree / Edgware area for a while ...

Thanks for that Past master. St Stephens it must have been then. I have heard of that, at St Albans so I think a trip to Hertford is in order for some parish records searching.

Past master you are an angel.
My husband used to drink in the Black boy as a teenager!!!so knows exactly where it is at Bricket Wood near St Albans .
I have now looked at my Watford and St Albans map and have found a wooded area called Waterdale just off Chequers Lane, Garston in between Watford and St Albans which could be the place.
