Thanks everyone - Liniment looks good - especially as it appears in an old medicine book I found on google books, even though I note the doctor says he mistook it for medicine.

I'll wait to see if anyone else has any ideas but it looks like that could be it.

Anyone have any idea if alcohol can cause any of those problems?

Having looked again, I'm not sure about glandular - I think it may be general.

Ammonia Liniment:  A mixture of ammonia water 35 parts, alcohol 5 parts and a fatty oil 60 parts.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Brill thanks.

There seems to be a word after "mediciene", does anybody know what this could be/what it means?
