Ellaby/Cash Lincs
« on: Wednesday 02 September 09 08:58 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone.  I would please like to request a lookup for any census information on Mary Ann Cash (married Abraham Crawford) born 1808 Fotherby Lincs, also her parents  William Cash and Mary Ellaby. I do not know if she had siblings. That is all the information I have.  Thank you

Thank you so much lizdb, that is them. Mary is the Mary Ann Cash I was looking for. They had 12 more children!!The Roberts I think must be related as Robert seems to be a family name. Is there anything on her parents at all in the census please?

Hmmm ... I think assumptions are not quite right here. :(

1851 has Mary CRAWFORD (wife of Abraham) aged 35 born Redbourne - surely bap 22 Sept 1815 at Redbourne (of William and Frances).  What does the one from Fotherby (which is near Louth, not Scunthorpe) have to do with things?

You (and we) need to be clear whom you are seeking. :)

Hello Geoff E. Thanks for your reply.  The information I was given was that Mary Ann Crawford nee Cash was born in Fotherby Lincs in 1808 and that her parents were Mary nee Ellaby and William Cash.  The info that lizdb gave me is right about the family and childrens names and age's.  You are right about the birth date. On adding up birth dates if she was born in 1815 then her first child was born at 23.  I apologise for wasting your time when I had the wrong information about her birth and parents.  Sorry, will research better next time..

No problem :)

I just hate to see people chasing the wrong ancestors.  I see Abe and Mary had a daughter Fanny, probably named after Mary's mum.

I think you may have trouble finding them.

The National Burial Index has these burials at Redbourne -

7 May 1824 Wm CASH (33)
26 March 1841 Frances CASH (46)

You should find an 1814 marriage for them in the IGI.  Even better, you'll find it here
http://freereg.rootsweb.com/cgi/SearchResults.pl?RecordType=Marriages&RecordID=1445394

And some burials - look here http://freereg.rootsweb.com/cgi/Search.pl

Thank you so much for that info, I am so grateful for the links from you.  Found Mary's siblings and many other names and relationships.  Also found interestingly three Cash children dying within days of each other in Oct 1806.  Strangely I am trying to find out how three other children in my family all died same day in 1866 in Australia.  History does repeat....
