John McDonald and Annie Grant in Scotland, possibly Inverness-shire

This is a side-shoot of the topic 'Migration to and marriage in USA'.  My husband's relative John McLeod, emigrated to America 1887, married a Mary McDonald, (who emigrated to Cleveland, Ohio around 1888).
I am trying to now trace her parents back in Scotland - John McDonald and Annie Grant.    John McLeod was born in Kiltarlity, Inverness-shire, in 1862 and as he was to marry his 'girlfriend', I have presumed that she possibly came from some area near there.  (*Family lore says that his girlfriend was to follow him to USA, but she actually died before being able to travel, and her sister travelled in her place, and married John in America. I presume she was round the same age as John, possibly a little younger?)  I have looked at a number of McDonalds and Grants on Scotland's People without finding the right parents. My husband has McDonalds in his tree (from Cullicudden, Resolis, R. & C., and also Lanarkshire) - would be funny (but not impossible!) if Mary turns out to be a relation, as well.

MARY MC DONALD Birth: 29 MAR 1857 Inverness, Inverness

Do you know the name of the sister (or was that Mary?) that supposedly travelled out to marry John McLeod? This would help to try and verify the family.

Another child showing to these parents is a Jessie b. 02 JUL 1860 in Inverness, Inverness

No it must have been another sister - perhaps the Isabell, or even Jessie,  who died.   More likely was Jessie who died - as John was born 1862, which would make Isabell ten years older then J., and Jessie would have been 27 yrs. , nearer to his age.
  Perhaps I should now look for Jessie's death in Inverness at age 26 or so, 1887 ?
MARY was the one John married in America c. 1888.
