Just a thought - Have you tried looking under Kilpatrick if there is some mystery re Patrick Coyle?

In Ulster Kirkpatrick and McIlfatrick/McElfatrick can be variations of Kilpatrick.

Misread your original message so sorry for the unhelpful reply. When you say you have had no reply from Dublin - are you talking about ordering a birth cert? Postal inquiries should go to the GRO Convent Road Roscommon Co Roscommon not to the Dublin office which is only for personal researchers.
Just looking at the LDS site (family search record search pilot) there are 16 birth registrations for Mary Coyle between 1871 and 1879 4 are in 1871 which possibly you may wish to ignore.
Hope this is of more help

thank you so much for your interest
i originally was trying to trace peter kyle from a poor request by his wife in Scotland, eventually some one on roots chat traced it to patrick coyle wed Alice killpatrick in Belfast, put this down to poor understanding of the Irish dialect and managed to get marriage certificate from Belfast
on daughter marriage lines stateds her father drowned in 1873 he was master mariner which i tend to take with a pinch of salt,on her mothers request for poor relief this also states he drowned in the west Indies in 1873,by this time her daughter should be around 12
can't make sense of it no death certificate ,no records available,he must have existed somewhere, here i am
i was in Dublin 3 weeks ago but did not know of different address for birth certificates
hope i have luck here
but from my heart deepest thanks
god bless
Liz

If Mary Coyle was born before 1864 you will not find a birth certificate as registration for Catholic BMD's only started in 1864.

Have you tried searching for birth certificate under her mother's maiden name in case she was born just before her parents were married?
