As someone new to the site I wonder if anyone is able to offer me some advice. I have traced my great great grandfather, Daniel Mahoney (b c1818) as coming from Co Cork, Eire. But it seems that nearly all the Mahoneys originated from Co Cork  :) ! What would be the best way to pursue my search further ? Thanks !

You should make a collection of as many names as possible of people related or connected to him.  A rare name may have appeared only in one area, or even one parish, in Co. Cork.
