birth - Barbara Stewart GARDINER

Hi everyone

This time i am looking for some birth information for Barbara Stewart GARDINER. From the 1881 scottish census she was born Beith, Ayrshire, Scotland around 1854. She married Hugh MORRISON in 1874

Would like to find out her parents names and actual date of birth (if possible) and did she have any siblings

I really do appreciate any help and information people find and pass on

Civil Registration in Scotland began 1855. So prior to this date you will be unlikely to find details of parents on a Parish Record of a marriage. You may or may not get the maiden name of a mother off the parish record of a baptism/birth.

The 1874 marriage on Scotlands People  of Barbara Stewart GARDINER to Hugh MORRISON in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire
would should confirm the names of Barbara's parents, incl mms of her mother.

The death of Thomas GARDNER, assuming it was in Scotland?, would confirm the names of his parents

Although i must admit i am a bit confused 

So what your suggesting is that Thomas GARDNER & Margaret McINTYRE are the parents of my Barbara?

Secondly Thomas GARDNER is the son of Matthew GARDINER and Barbara STEWART?

i tried to follow your links to familysearch and freecen but wasn't really sure what i was searching for

In your second post you talk about SCOTLANDS PEOPLE (which i hadn't heard of before now). I'll have a look at that tomorrow - i think my brain has taken in as much as it's going to today but i do appreciate your help. I'll let you know how i go

Had a great day searching SCOTLANDS PEOPLE website and found and downloaded the image of the marriage of Barbara Stewart GARDINER and Hugh MORRISON.

Plus there was another Scottish marriage i had on my list so i found that one while i was at it too!! I had a great day - i added parents to 4 different people 

I didn't find the death for Thomas GARDNER but will have another look another day. Like you said he will only be there if he died in Scotland so i will keep that in mind

Thank you very very very much Ambly for your helpful hints (i know my brother is researching some Scottish families too so i'll tell him about the Scotlands People website)

I still haven't quite worked out how you got the info from familysearch and freecen @ rootsweb but i'm going to have another look now
