Thank you Genie,
That matches up with other info that I have gathered so it is the one I was looking for.  Mack and Dack, both in my ancestry are particularly common names in Norfolk. Easily muddled too. Thanks again.
Regards
Vic

OK. I've looked at Norfolk and I can see the christening of three Roberts.

7 Mar 1828, in Marsham to Robert and Mary.
He stayed there and married Harriet then Elizabeth.

17 Feb 1833, in Barney to John and Sarah.
He's a bit tricker.
Sometime between 1851 & 61 he married Ann and moved up to Yorkshire. In 1851 he's still with his parents in Barney, age 19.
In 1861 he's in Hackmondwicke.
Robert, 28, Weaver, b. Brampton, Nfk.
Ann, 28, b. Dewsbury, Yks.
Walter, 4, b. Heckmondwicke, Yks.
Frances, 1, b. Heckmondwicke.
There's a whole bunch of Norfolk born Macks, weaving blankets in 1861, in Heckmondswicke.

20 Nov 1836, in Brandiston, to Richard & Sarah.
He's the one who married Ann, was the carpenter and was at Swan Lane, Deerham by 1871.

I think that's sorted 'em  ;D

Hello,
Thanks very much for all that.  The two Roberts that I am interested in are the first and the last. The first one (1828) also married a third time to Sarah Ann Blythe and is with her in 1881 in Briston. She died in 1885, and the 1891 Freecen transcription must be a mistranscript because it has him as born 1828. That was where I got a bit confused.

The third Robert 1836 is son of Richard and Sarah nee Dack. Sarah is one of mine, dau of my 3rd great grandfather. I was hoping that there might have been a link between the two Mack families as there are other marriage links between them and the Nortons and Medlers of Hevingham who are also linked with my Dacks.  But it would appear not.

Thank you for taking all that trouble.

Hi

Robert Mack (son of Robert Mack and Mary Amis) appears in my family tree.  He was the brother of my ancestor John Mack.

It would appear that Robert and Mary had 2 sons that they named Robert, the first died as an infant.

I have Robert Mack (1828) marrying Elizabeth ?, Harriet Leman and then Mary ?.

regards

Jeannie
