Eliza Armstrong
« on: Wednesday 09 September 09 15:14 BST (UK) »
Hi all, new to this board. Anyone have info on Eliza/Elizabeth Armstrong, born in the Stranraer area in 1885-8 or so? On her marriage certificate her father's name is James. She married Edward Lister (English), and settled in Belfast.

Hi, thanks so much for that. I saw that in the census too, but how do you know it's the same person. I wasn't sure, as those names are probably quite common for the time?

I know, it all seems to fit. What's the Irish connection? Her father is listed as a labourer, as everyone seems to be in those days!

Here's Edward and Eliza Lister in 1911 census living in Avondale St., Belfast:

They have one child, Isabella, who could have been named for Eliza's mother if 1891 census record posted earlier is correct.
