Can anyone have a go at deciphering the hand writing on this census and tell me the conditionon og Eliza`Raybould. Looks like she has several children but still has her maiden name though her children have the surname Harrison?

I agree - Eliza  Harrison is shown as a widow, living with her mother.

It looks as though Mary Raybauld has another grand-daughter living with her as well, namely Mary A Parsons, who presumably is the child of another of Mary Raybauld's daughters.

What I should have asked is condition of Eliza Harrison, nee Raybould presumably.

I was looking at Mary Rayboulds condition as to marriage which is given as (wid) Widow in the 3rd column -  So surely Elizas condition as to marriage should be wid, M (married) or unm (unmarried)

AAh, I see, ditto...doh!

Hi tiktok

As has been mentioned, Eliza's marital status box has been filled in with 'do', the same as her mother's status, i.e., a widow.

I shouldn't think many people called their son Handel, so could this birth be relevant by date and location?

Sept 1877 Handel H Harrison Dudley 6c 16

(checked with FreeBMD 1851 to 1901 and only other likely reference is Handel Wallwork Harrison in1891)

He might be the key to finding his parents marriage in the census if so. I tried 1881, but no joy.
