I guess that's why it has the 'bubble level' built in.

Can anyone definitively say what it would have been attached to, armoured vehicle etc.????

GOERZ
PROFILE - (draft) Carl Paul GOERZ Optische Anstalt was a German company in Berlin. (see WIKIPEDIA)
This artillery compass type has been built by several companies, among them the famous camera manufacturer Zeiss Jena.

Are there any other markings on it? Such as a "Waffen Mark" An eagle mark?

Can I also request a clearer photo of the top pse? I have asked about it on anther forum...

Thanks Scrimnet, l shall ask the owner for a clearer photo of the top. Maybe they can use my trick of holding the camera at an angle and avoiding the reflective glare!!

Apologies Scrimnet for the delay in providing another photo, the owner is having problems with his camera. He states that there are no markings on it apart from the letters in the top L/H corner first photo.....although it says ZE l reckon it should be ZIEL as per the one on that compass website link from  the same company.
