Cumbria is in scotland, isnt it?
If so you are best asking that on scotland board.

Was it this one?

1901
39 Chapel St, Whitehaven
Isaac SMITH 43 Coal Hewer, Frizington
Ellen 46 Dressmaker, Newcastle
Elizabeth D 21 Arlecdon
William L 17 Coal Miner (Shiftman) Distington
Richard 13 Hairdresser App, Distington
Herbert WRANGHAM (boarder) 30 Coal Hewer, Lamplugh

Deaths Mar 1918
SMITH    Isaac    59    Whitehaven    10b   834

Is there any particular reason why he chould have been buried at Arlecdon?
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Hello Geoff E.    Thank you very much indeed.    I guessed he might be buried at Arlecdon because he was born there and lived in the area all his life. Is this death  reference to another church in Whitehaven?   Best wishes and thanks again.   picamarra.

The death reference simply shows a death was registered in the Whitehaven district.  It's likely he was buried in the Whitehaven (Preston Quarter) Cemetery if he continued living in Whitehaven.

We're over the border from Scotland Celia.  Arlecdon is about an hour's drive from there.
