Wyke Regis

Researching my husband's family Garside.

His grandfather Walter Howard Garside was born on 13.01.1896 in Galway Road (Gallwey??), Wyke Regis.

He was the only one of 5 chldren not born in Birmingham so I am trying to understand why his parents were in the Weymouth district in that year.
Brother Horace b. 1893
Sister Gladys b 1897
Brother Percy b. 1898
Brother Frederick b. 1899

His father's (Frederick) occupation is listed on the birth certificate as Fitter and Turner (Journeyman).  Can anyone suggest a reason, perhaps linked to Frederick's work that might account for this?  I do not know this area so am wondering what took them there.
Many thanks for time and effort.
Sue Garside :)

According to this site, Wyke Regis was a centre for engineering in the early 1890s http://www.thedorsetpage.com/locations/place/W560.htm  Frederick's occupation is given as Turner in Moter Car Work in the 1901 census which is a similarly engineering-based occupation.
