Jane Glover nee Nevins/Evans
« on: Tuesday 22 September 09 16:16 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to locate a death record for Jane Glover nee Nevins who was married to George Glover.  They married in Omagh 1861 but I think they moved several times.  I believe I have located them in Lisnaskea c1869 but I know George moved to Belfast at some point after that. He is buried in Belfast but I can't locate Jane's death records and don't know if she died prior to the family moving to Belfast.  Any help is appreciated.  :)

Bo,
There was a Jane Glover who died in Lisnaskea Registration District in 1874, age 33. The details are on Vol 18 Page 149 should you wish to order a death certificate.

Thank you so much Kinkerswell -  I will probably check that out but do you happen to know if a death certificate would name her husband (as next of kin)? I want to ensure I have the correct lady and the only way I can think of doing this is if I have George's name on the certificate.  ??? ???

Death certificate will only list name of informant which may or may not be the husband.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Bo,
I noticed from the births of children of this couple that Jane is called NEVINS for children born in Omagh and then EVANS for children born in Lisnaskea. I am not sure that they are the same couple.

Thank you Aghadowey - I thought that might be the case  ::)  It's a matter now whether to send for certificate or not.

Hi kingskerswell - you are quite right about the surname.  However, if you say Jane Nevins it 'rolls' off the tongue as Jane Evans and I think this might have been the case in Lisnaskea and noted as such.

BUT, when I chased up the birth records of children from both Tyrone and Fermanagh, George's occupation was noted as shoemaker in both instances.  Whilst I know Jane Nevins & Jane Evans may be different people I think the likelihood of both being married to a George Glover, Shoemaker less likely - I don't know  ???  ???  I'm always willing and appreciate guidance with things like this from more experienced people.

Bo,
Point taken, and as you are probably correct it is may be worth getting the certificate.
