Kingskerswell and Joemc  many thanks for info. It obviously wouldn't help to contact Balteagh - years are too late for my query.

1828 'census' of Balteagh Presbyterian Church shows a John Campbell head of family with un-named wife and children - William, Joseph, Eliza, Susanna and Eleanor. The address was Drumagosker, Balteagh. No McIlmoyle family in the census [source Irish Genealogist; Vol 13 no 2, 2011 page 136]

I have a McElmoyle family emigrated to Carbon County, Pennsylvania in 1873, Hugh McElmoyle (father Samuel) married Margaret Hodge (father William) February 6, 1849 in Newtown, Limavady.

Children William, Ella, Jane, Margaret, Hugh, Henry, James Alexander, Samuel, Robert and Martha.
I have all children except Ella or Ellen in Pennsylvania as well as Immigration records, not sure if she married and stayed behind.  I have been unable to get back any further than Hugh born 1825 and Margaret born 1826.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a passenger list for my familly 1850-1861? Ireland to Scotland
« Reply #14 on: Thursday 31 January 13 13:32 GMT (UK) »
My family married 1850 in Newtownlimavady District, they were found on the 1861 Census Wishaw Lanarkshire Scotland.  Is there a ship or passenger list showing their immigration please?  Would they have come directly to that part of Scotland or would they have landed somewhere north?  Thankyou for any help.

Ireland was part of the U.K. as was Scotland so no records were kept for people travelling between the two countries.

Hi   Thankyou for your reply, I just didnt think.  Do you know what kind of ship travelled at that time to Scotland would it have been a ferry?   I cant find them in Ireland living between their marriage 1n 1850 and their arrival in the 1861 census in Wishaw.  Never mind at least I know what period of time they came over and when they had their first child.... my two G G Grandfather!
