Alice Emily/Amelia Insull help please
« on: Sunday 27 September 09 17:11 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have been trying to find my above relative on the census for 1881 and maybe 1871, here's the info I have so far:

born A/M/J 1871 Dudley as Alice Emily
married March 1891 as Alice Amelia to William H Chatham - Wolverhampton
1891 census as Alice Emily with William - Wednesfield
1901 census as Alice Amelia with William - Wolverhampton

but I can not find her on the 1881 census, I have not brought the marriage certificate, so do not know her father's name, but any help will be great.

Many thanks, Sam

Hi Sam,

The 1871 census shows a one month old daughter 'Alice M M' belonging to this family:

1881
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=uki1881&indiv=try&h=23355667
RG11/2880 118 9

(father was Edward, Boot Maker, born Dudley, age 45 in 1871)

I can't see a birth registration for an Alice M M, so maybe she's yours. Now to find her in 1881  :P

Hi
Many thanks for that, do you have a link or reference for the 1871 census record?

Hi
Yes I have access, but could not find the right family, I don't know why.
I think that that is definitely them though, as a lot of her siblings names were used for her own children.
Many, many thanks for that :-)
Have a great week, Sam
