St Michael's, St Albans, baptism 1812, MANDERSON
« on: Monday 28 September 09 16:05 BST (UK) »
I would be very grateful if someone could check the baptism record for DAVID MANDERSON, at St Michael's,St Albans, on 26 Janury 1812, please.  This entry is on the IGI and the parents are given as Christopher and Ann.  I am hoping to find the occupation of Christopher.  Another son, John, was also baptised the same day.
Many thanks.

This MAY be them in 1841.

1841 Census
Brooks Row,
St Pancras, Middlesex
HO107/682/8/St Pancras

Mary JACKSON, 80, yes
Christr MANDERSON, 55, Mason, yes
Ann Manderson, 55, yes
Robert Manderson, 30, Coach Spring M, no
Christr Manderson, 15, Mason, no
Jno Leong, 8, Mason, yes

Lots of possible London records which I unfortunately cant access ::)

Possible Marriage;
Ann ELBORN/Christopher MANDERSON, 1805, St Sepulchre

John MANDERSON/Emma HARVY
Father, Christopher Manderson

FreeBMD has Emma HARVY and John Dec 1844, Marylebone 1 223

Death, Christopher Manderson 1844

1851 Census John, born 1812, and wife Emma are living in Middlesex also. She has a son aged 16 with her, so was probably a widow when marrying John.

Trish :)

AAHA ;)

Robert MANDERSON,
Christened 16 March 1806, Saint Paul, Deptford, London
Parents, CHRISTR Manderson and ANN
( I thought Deptford was in Kent?)

So this is my theory;
OTHERS MAY DISAGREE, please feel free to do so;

Christ and Ann married 1805
Had Robert 1806
Off to Herts, David/John born 1812
He was a Mason so could have travelled for work.
Other children could be born. Have seem possible female marriages on Ancestry Marriage records, Father Christopher.
Back to Middlesex eventually, definitely by 1841 Census.

Cheers,
Trish

I am really grateful to you, Peter, for checking this record for me.  What a surprise to find twins - certainly not what I had expected.

Thank you, too, Trish, for your helpful input.  Your supposition is correct about the Christopher & Ann Elborn marriage in 1805, son Robert b. 1806, and so on.

I appreciate your help.
