I am trying to find the parents of Jane Ruddock (nee Hudson) born C1789 at new malton, N.Yorkshire. As a married woman she lived in new malton in the 1841/51/61 census,s.  I,m sorry I don,t have any more clues and thats probably why I can,t get the information I want.  Regards Pat

Familysearch.org (IGI) has a couple of possibles which might give you a start finding the right Jane. Baptisms at St Leonard's New Malton

Jane Hudson  born 20 Sep 1786, bap 22 Sep 1786 parents William Hudson & Rachel
Jane Hudson bap 15 Sep 1788 parents William Hudson & Ann

Looking at those census records and her age of 77 years on her death in 1866 you might tend towards her parents being William and Ann as all are fairly consistent with the 1788 baptism. Obviously not conclusive of course! Might there be any clues in Jane & William Hudson's childrens names?

From the 1866 Malton Messenger : death 12th May 1866 at Malton , Mrs Jane Ruddock, age 77 years

Hi Shirl, must say I tend to agree with you on the parents.  The only child I can find at the moment is Mary ANN baptised 18th Aug 1819, But I would have thought there would have been more. Will have another look now.  Many thanks for your reply, Regards Pat
