I am told that my grandfather was in the Royal Horse Artillery during the the first World War. He did not die during the war so I'm not looking for war memorials. Please can anyone tell me where to begin my search. Thanks

Try searching for any medals at the National Archives
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/
and look at The Great War Forum
