Uniform
« on: Sunday 04 October 09 19:16 BST (UK) »
Hello

Can anyone help identify the uniform/s please?

My Grandad (on the left) was Robert (Roy) Samuel Jackson born in 1930 in Liverpool.

Many thanks

Jemma

Jemmal'
The beret badge looks like Royal Artillery and the white lanyard was part of the uniform.

Deffo Artillery and deffo post war....

The top one has him in what looks like 1947ptn (poss 1942ptn), but after the war (initially from late 1944) as the collar is open, has an officer style tie and  attached collar....

The second one...1949ptn uniform, very shiny boots and brasses...The tentage smacks of the TA though...Although with National service and post war, I expect an amount of "emergency accommodation"!

The Next Of kin would have to apply via the Veterans Agency...And it will cost I'm afraid...
