Considered Belfast area and Belfast topics belong on Co. Antrim board so there's no reason to move the thread.

As you are researching the name Marmion, this site might be of assistance to you:  marmionfamilytree.com.  Good luck.  Penelope Marmion

Hi chicag0 ,

The Old and new graveyards at Knockbreda are now controlled/run by Castlereagh Borough Council who hold all the records - not the church. They also have layouts of the new graveyard. The manager on the site had old maps of the old yard when I met him a few years ago but they are hard to follow ie duplicate numbering and all sorts of difficulties. PRONI has the BMD records of the church (Knockbreda)for the dates you talk about but they are currently moving to new premises and re-opening in a month or so.

The old records are not the best and I found several ommissions and other errors when searching them.

The Library on the Saintfield Road above the Graveyard has an interesting book on the history of Knockbreda - published about 1925 - you may be only allowed to see it there as there are only a few copies in existence.  There is another book giving some MI's on knockbreda yard.

regards

Peter

PRONI is re-opening on 30 March which is less than 2 weeks from today.
