Burial at Codsall
« on: Tuesday 06 October 09 17:35 BST (UK) »
George Jackson Hutchinson died 19th April 1866 and according to family information is buried at Codsall. I am anxious to know whether he is the only occupant of the grave, or whether his wife Annie, nee Arrowsmith is interred with him. They married in 1863 in Australia where they worked as city missionaries. Does anyone have access to Codsall MIs please?

Sorry, I have already posted all the relevant information, the only other information I have is that they married at St. Marks Church Fitzroy, Collingwood Australia 25.11.1863. The burial at Codsall is shown on a family memorial in Clayton churchyard, Doncaster, and I have quoted it exactly.Hoping I had sufficient to make a trace easily possible.

I live near Codsall, I know that there is one church, St Nicholas, as it is a burial from over 100 years, I am not sure whether the stone will be readable, but depending on the weather I may be able to go there in the next week?

Solatium, Many thanks indeed. If you are able to go and not able to read the MI it might be worthwhile asking the vicar or whoever is there whether he knows of any transcriptions, and their location. Thanks again.

Hi
I have telephoned the vicar to check whether he has any records from this date, he is going to check and get back in touch with me, I will visit in a few days and have a look round the churchyard where the vicar has suggested, would you like some pictures whether I can find the grave/gravestone or not?

That would be helpful thanks Sam, Of course anything you can photograph about  the Hutchinson/ Arrowsmith grave would be particularly welcome.

Hi
I have been unable to find a grave/gravestone, I have some pictures of the church and churchyard. Apparently the church do not have the records of the graves around the church, these are held in Stafford, so it might be worthwhile giving them a ring or emailing.
