There is information about how to order a death certificate by mail from San Diego County here:  http://arcc.co.san-diego.ca.us/arcc/services/birthdeath_certificates.aspx

thanks. i see that 1.& will post off, as dont know if that is her. is there any electon rolls/census to see , besides the 1920 , & the 1930, where she would have gone to at west virgina, or are they every 10 years please. in the 1918 , would her husband had to divorce her to marry again in the u,s. ? if so is there any department that i can log on to to see, as he remarried again b/4 1930. & as he married here in uk, does that hold in us.  :)

I'm a little confused, but I'll try to answer your questions:

1.  The census is taken every 10 years.  The 1930 is the latest one available.  The 1940 Census will be released in 2012.

2.  I would think people who were married in the UK would still be married if they came to the US.

3.  Divorce records would be held by the state where the people divorced.  Ancestry has some divorce records for California & Nevada, but they're from the mid-1960's and beyond.  Those are the only online ones I know of off-hand.
