George Clark - Ayr b.1927
« on: Sunday 11 October 09 12:57 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find any information about the family of George Clark.

I believe George was born in 1927 in Ayr. His parents were George and Rosina (could have been Maria)  He may have had at least 2 sisters.

George joined the Merchant Navy when he was just 14yrs old and eventually settled in Australia.

Any assistance locating details on George and his family would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Lyn,

There is only one marriage for a George Clark, to a Rosina, in Ayrshire. this one was in 1917. in Galston, Ayr.

There is also a birth in 1927. in Galston, Ayr, for a George Clark.

There are no marriages in the period 1900. up to 1930, between a George Clark, and a Maria. in Scotland.

So there is a good chance that the George Clark, and Rosina, 1917. is your couple, and that the birth of George Clark, 1927, in the same place is also George, and Rosina's, son.

The only way to prove this connection is to take a chance and purchase the birth certificate for George Clark, born 1927, in Galston, Ayr. which would provide his parents names, and the marriage date of parents.

You can purchase this certificate for a small fee on Scotlandspeople.

Regards,
Jonn.

George may well still be alive, so please do not post information about siblings or George's own children, since this would contravene RootsChat guidelines on posting information less than 100 years old or about (possibly) living people.

Thanks

Nell

Hi John,
yes that does sound like it may well be who I'm looking for. I will consider purchasing that certificate to be certain. Many thanks for your help.

Hi Nell,
Thanks for the reminder, it's much appreciated. The George I am researching has definitely passed but I will be careful.
