Bellamy / Proudley
« on: Thursday 15 October 09 17:23 BST (UK) »
Hoping someone can give me a little bit of info on this one....  ;)
21st November 1796 at St Peter's Torksey
William Bellamy marries a Sarah Proudley (who is the widow to a Thomas)

I believe that /sarah and Thomas Proudley have two girls
1. Ann, marries a James Brumby, found only one daughter a Sarah who marries a William Mitchell

2. Sarah Proudley - born 1782 Torksey

Question is: What was Sarah's birth name before she married Thomas Proudley???
And can anyone give me a little background on these families

On one of the census relating to my Bellamy Family - i have a James and Ann Mitchell (brother and Sister) living with cousin John Bellamy
But i don't know anything about them.

Thanks for your time
Betton x.
 :) :) :)

Hi Franklin B,

In my husband's line he has Proudley's and Brumby's.
James BRUMBY of Stow married Fanny Franklin.
family Joseph b.1864 Fanny b.1870.James Franklin b.1872 Agnes Harriet 1875 and Betty b.1868.

Joseph married Elizabeth Curtis and had Ernest Willie b.1888 born Bole Notts
joseph b.1886 went to Ohio USA, Percy b.1899

Ernest Willie married Jane Pykitt 1913 at Bole Notts had my mother in law and  a son Ronald Ernest 1918

My mother in law married Herbert Proudley, one of the line of Lincolnshire Proudleys.  The surname did change from a Proudlove to Proudley in circa  1750s.

I also have a photograph of Elizabeth Curtis and Joseph Brumby in Bole if you are interested.

Hi Louthlass.I will have to attach some photo's seperatly it's saying they are to large,My grandads father was James Brumby & Fanny Doncaster and they married in Fledborough in 1853 and in 1857 his father Thomas emigrated to America with his other 7 children a year after Thomas's eldest married daughter Mary & Joseph King had left.I think James & Fanny did'nt go at the time because they had 3 of thier 11 children by then.I have Herbert & Florence on my tree along with sister Dorothy J & Ronald but i have no other info etc.Joseph Cutis Brumby who went to America was in Ohio where Thomas settled ,He was killed in a railroad accident in 1936 and was married to Amelia Halbaulb.Regards Franklin B
